RAMÓN SÁNCHEZ-PIZJUÁN STADIUM

The venue for the next UEFA Europa League final on 18 May 2022.

Inaugurated in 1958, the stadium is named after Sevilla FC’s ex-President Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, the main supporter of the project who was unable to see his dream come true before passing away in 1956.

Designed for 70,329 spectators, in 1982 the stadium had to reduce its capacity in order to host the semifinal of the France-Germany World Cup.

In 2015, a complete renovation was carried out, changing the colour of the seats, covering the outside of the façade with a metallic skin and LEDs, updating the snack bars, changing rooms and toilets, installing new video scoreboards and increasing the capacity of the lower tier at the back of the stadium. This renovation is still in progress.
